Hello, I'm Bernie!
I'm a Glass artist based in Worthing, West Sussex. I have been working with traditional leaded, stained and fused glass for the past 17 years.
As a retired chef, I now love experimenting with different techniques using glass. I often find ingredients in my kitchen to incorporate into my pieces, such as foil, bicarbonate soda & other items. I love the fact that I don't know how the end product will turn out... a bit like cooking with glass!
I like to make my work colourful & you will find that each piece lets the light through in different ways throughout the day, so can look like two different pieces in the day or night! I get a lot of my inspiration from walks by the beach & countryside.
I feel it's really important in our busy lives to take time out, whether it be expressing yourself through art, dance, singing, or being creative in any form. This doesn't feel like work to me, it's almost therapeutic and I love what I do!
